Subject: Request for Endorsement-Eric Wray-Alpine Union School District-Board of Trustees

Good Morning Central Committee Members,

I sincerely apologize, but I will be unable to attend the meeting on Monday, April 11, 2022. I currently manage a multi-state human resources department, and I am required to be out of town. I am requesting your endorsement, and I have listed a few details about myself and some accomplishments since being elected Trustee in Alpine in 2006.

I have been on the Alpine Union Board of Trustees since 2006. I have been reelected for four consecutive terms, seeking my fifth term on the Alpine School Board.

Some of my key accomplishments include the following:

  • Helped establish with Republican leaders a majority board in 2010. Currently stands at 5-0 majority.

  • A balanced budget and strong reserve for AUSD.

  • Defeated a teacher strike in 2014 and saved several million dollars by cutting teacher salaries with support from the Trustees and taxpayers.

  • The Board of Trustees established a reserve of over 8%. No administration or union can override this policy.

  • We have improved the overall curriculum for all major subjects with approval from parents and taxpayers.

  • Covid policies and practices allowed AUSD to stay open since August of 2020. AUSD has never closed since its reopening in the fall of 2020.

  • I have ensured NO mandated critical race theory (CRT) or liberal curriculum instruction. AUSD will stick to the 3 Rs. Reading/Writing/Arithmetic.

  • Endorsed by Supervisor Joel Anderson of Alpine along with Trustees Travis Lyon, Joe Perricone, Al Guerra, and Glenn Dickie

Alpine Union School District currently has three incumbents up for reelection. I have earned the right to be endorsed and reelected in Alpine along with my current team of Trustees, Al Guerra and Glenn Dickie. Together we will continue to represent taxpayers, parents, and students to promote conservative values in the Alpine Union School District.

Sincerely,

Eric Wray

Trustee, Alpine Union School Board
