I am the mother of three boys and a wife to a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy. I live in Alpine and sit on numerous local community boards, including the Alpine Planning Group, the Alpine Chamber of Commerce Board, and, the Board of the Alpine VFW . I am a local business owner and I care about Alpine. I have focused my career on changing the lives of children. While working as a teacher and later as a principal, I spent every available minute I had to earn a masters and doctorate degree in education that focuses on leadership. During that time, I worked on studying the best approaches to assessing and understanding students needs in order to give children a better education. I also spent 4 1/2 years leading a team of over 400 educators in the San Diego Unified School District, the second largest school district in California where I focused on improving education for students across the learning spectrum.
